Ravel La Valse
Tchaikovsky Symphony No.4

The pursuit of happiness

Plunged into depression following his catastrophic marriage, Tchaikovsky poured his soul into the Fourth Symphony. Opening with a horn fanfare representing ‘Fate’, this stunning work unfolds as a struggle between that inexorable destiny and the pursuit of happiness. Tchaikovsky unleashes the full force of the orchestra in the Finale, racing to an exhilarating and triumphant conclusion.
