Tchaikovsky Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture
About this performance
Experience vivid musical portrayals of two Shakespearean love stories, including Tchaikovsky's stormy symphonic poem The Tempest, and his depiction of literature's most famous star crossed lovers, conducted by Jaime Martín.
Tchaikovsky wrote several symphonic poems based on Shakespeare's plays, with various themes depicting different characters and moments in the plot. The famous ‘love theme’ from Romeo and Juliet is ingrained in the memories of millennials everywhere as the ‘kiss’ in video game The Sims.

*Due to illness, Christian Li is unable to perform Paganini's Violin Concerto as originally scheduled and with regret has withdrawn from this performance.
