About this performance
Renowned for her electrifying, soulful live performances, Meg Washington is taking to the Hamer Hall stage with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for a very special performance.
Meg’s highly influential, genre-defying work has inspired a generation of music fans. She’s been nominated for 10 ARIA Awards and won three, including Breakthrough Artist and Best Female Artist for 2010’s I Believe You Liar, and her fourth album Batflowers was nominated for the 2020 Australian Music Prize. Always full of surprises, last year Meg released a minimalist, crystalline interpretation of Hot Fuss by The Killers, has a brand-new song Eastcoaster and has more new music to come.
Conducted by Vanessa Scammell as part of Meg’s first run of orchestral shows in seven years, this mesmerising performance with the MSO will showcase her latest tracks alongside hits like Catherine Wheel, Lazarus Drug, Kiss Me Like You’re Going to Die, Skeleton Key and more.
"That jaw dropping instrument in her throat was enough to send everyone off on a high"
"There’s truly nothing that Megan Washington can’t do"
