Music and Ideas

Discover more about our music from the world class artists, producers and composers working on stage and behind the scenes at the MSO. Music & Ideas events include open rehearsals, informative presentations, panels, talks and behind the scenes demonstrations.

About this event

Go behind the scenes for an hour with the MSO at an open rehearsal with Principal Conductor Benjamin Northey.

You'll be able to eavesdrop on the dialogue between conductor and orchestra and see a fascinating part of putting on a symphonic performance, as the musicians rehearse Leonard Bernstein’s Symphony No.3 Kaddish. Please note that due to this being a working rehearsal we cannot guarantee that specific parts of this symphony will be featured.

This event will run for approximately 60 minutes, however, the exact duration of this rehearsal is subject to the conductor’s discretion on the day.

Panel Discussion at 6pm

MSO Head of Learning and Engagement Nicholas Bochner hosts this thought-provoking evening of conversation and performance with Christopher Latham and special guests.

Book both the Panel Discussion and Open Rehearsal for $25 plus applicable service charges.
