About this performance
Join the MSO and violinist Jack Liebeck under the baton of Jaime Martín in this concert featuring one of the most popular violin concertos in the repertoire, plus a newly commissioned work by Australian living legend Paul Grabowsky AO.
- Australian musical legend Paul Grabowsky AO is known for his incredible versatility and virtuosity. Paul is a long-time friend of the MSO, and we are thrilled to present the world premiere of this work as the culmination of his time as MSO Composer in Residence.
- Renowned violinist Jack Liebeck has performed as a soloist with top orchestras around the world and here he performs Bruch's virtuosic First Violin Concerto. Full of soaring and seductive melodies, it's no wonder this work has become an audience favourite around the world.
- Inspired by the folk music of Bohemia, Czech composer Dvořák's pastoral Fifth Symphony is a musical distillation of the landscape of his homeland and a joyful ode to its beauty, quirks, and natural features.

*Please note: violinist Jack Liebeck will perform Bruch's Violin Concerto No.1, in place of the originally scheduled program of Maria Dueñas performing Beethoven's Violin Concerto.
