Maria Callas forever left a lasting impact on the world of opera as the definition of the diva as artist – the greatest soprano that has ever lived. Now, Melbourne audiences can experience the legendary emotional force that is Callas.
In her 100th anniversary year, the European Union is proud to bring Maria Callas – La Divina – back to the stage using original vocal tracks of some of the arias for which she’s best-known.
Experience the seamless melding of state-of-the-art 3D hologram technology, the greatest of Callas' digitally remastered recordings, and the live MSO in a unique, one-night-only concert experience.
Pathos, anger, passion: Maria Callas could express every emotion, which made her one of the greatest singing actresses of all-time. Experience the artistry and the intense emotional force of her greatest hits from Bellini, Bizet, Verdi, Gounod and more as she inhabits roles with passionate heat, heartrending vulnerability, and fierce confidence.
