About this event
In a special, fundraising event for the Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal, you are invited to join Russian-British conductor Vasily Petrenko and the MSO for a peek behind the scenes at this Open Rehearsal.
You’ll be able to eavesdrop on the dialogue between conductor and orchestra and see a fascinating part of putting on a symphonic performance.
Repertoire and artists in this open rehearsal will be drawn from the program of Vasily Petrenko conducts Elgar. Please note that due to this being a working rehearsal we cannot guarantee that specific artists or repertoire will be featured.
This event will run for approximately 60 minutes, however, the exact duration of this rehearsal is subject to the conductor’s discretion on the evening.
All proceeds from ticket sales for this event will be donated to the Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal, to help provide emergency relief and longer-term humanitarian support to people and communities affected by the unfolding crisis in Ukraine. If you are unable to attend this Open Rehearsal but would like to support the Red Cross’ efforts in Ukraine, you can make a donation here.
Music & Ideas is supported by City of Melbourne.
