Jams in Schools is an initiative for students in Prep – Year 6 from disadvantaged or low SES backgrounds to engage with orchestral music and orchestral instruments.
MSO Artist in Residence and leading music education specialist, Karen Kyriakou and six MSO musicians will come to your school and lead fun and interactive workshops exploring a piece of orchestral music, pulling out musical themes and compositional techniques.
Workshops run for 45 minutes and will be differentiated to cater for Years P-3 and Years 4-6. Up to 300 students can participate in each workshop with a maximum of three workshops per day.
We’ll bring everything, even some percussion instruments for students to jam with us! And it’s all completely free!
