Sarah Morse was born in Melbourne and studied at the Victorian College of the Arts. Upon graduation, Sarah joined the Elizabethan Melbourne Orchestra (now Orchestra Victoria) and soon rose to the rank of Associate Principal, a position she held for 10 years.
In 1988 she spent a year in the Australian Chamber Orchestra, before returning to Melbourne in 1989 and taking the associate principal chair of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. She has previously performed with the Sydney Symphony, West Australian Symphony and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras in acting principal cello positions.
Sarah enjoys a rich and varied musical life, including chamber music, film and television work. She wrote and performed the music in Melbourne Theatre Company’s production of Dear Sun for the Castlemaine State Festival. She has also recorded soundtracks for TV such as Paul Grabowsky’s Jessica and films including Innocence and Six Degrees of Separation.
In 2005, Sarah joined Paul Grabowsky and Robyn Archer in a season of I Protest at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and the Melbourne International Arts Festival.
