Australian-Chinese tenor Kang Wang is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after young lyric tenors in the opera world. He is a former member of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program of the Metropolitan Opera and a finalist in the 2017 Cardiff Singer of the World competition.

In the 2022-2023 season, Mr Wang makes role debut at the Metropolitan Opera as the Italian Singer in Der Rosenkavalier conducted by Simone Young and makes notable house debuts at Opernhaus Zürich as Rodolfo in La bohème, Opera Hong Kong as Alfredo in La traviata and Rodolfo in La bohème. He also returns to Washington National Opera for Rodolfo in La bohème. In concert, he returns to Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for Verdi’s Requiem, and to London Philharmonic Orchestra for Tan Dun’s Buddha Passion.

Last season, Mr. Wang made his house and role debut at Washington National Opera as Ferrando in Così fan tutte, and his house debut at the State Opera of South Australia as Alfredo in La traviata. He also made his house debut at Seattle Opera as Rodolfo in La bohème, returned to Opera Australia in the same role, and returned to Opera Queensland as Alfredo in La traviata. In concert, he joins the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for a performance celebrating the Chinese New Year and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra for a concert of arias and recital of a selection of art songs.
