Born into a musical family, Jasmine Milton began learning violin at age four with her father Michael Milton. Jasmine is currently in her first year of training at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) under the tutelage of Adam Chalabi.
After completing her secondary studies in 2021 with Elizabeth Layton, she moved to Brisbane to commence her Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree at the University of Queensland under the tutelage of Associate Professor Adam Chalabi. During her studies she was the recipient of the Howard and Gladys Sleath scholarship (2022) and performed the Mendelssohn Violin concerto with the Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra (2023).
Jasmine has participated in AYO programs since 2018 and held principal positions at National Music Camp and Seasons in 2023. She was also involved in the chamber players series and was a member of the quartet in residence at AYO’s Momentum project with the Coffs Harbour and Armidale Regional Conservatories in 2023.
As a casual musician, Jasmine has performed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Opera Queensland and with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra as part of AYO’s orchestral fellowship program. She recently participated in the Queensland Youth Orchestra’s international tour, performing in venues across Singapore, Austria and Germany.
Jasmine is a passionate chamber musician and a founding member of the Piruli String Quartet, which won the Flinders Quartet mentorship in Musica Viva’s Strike a Chord competition (2021). She has also benefited from mentoring by the Australian Chamber Orchestra, as a member of the ACO academy from 2017-2019, and from masterclasses with Ray Chen, Dale Barltrop, Pinchas Zukerman and Robin Wilson.
When not practicing or performing, Jasmine enjoys going out for coffee, spending time at the beach and cooking vegan food with friends.
